Who is cs821?

Vision in Silver is slowly getting more and more interesting. There are still some parts that can be a little confusing sometimes, but I think that the book just hasn’t fully told us about them yet. Cs 821 is one of the many mysteries still. She seems to want to only draw but her old captives wouldn’t let her. She’s afraid of the consequences but doesn’t understand that there won’t be any since she was rescued. One part of her being a mystery is when Jackson Wolfgard decided “he would send a message to Simon Wolfgard, asking if the sweet blood could reveal visions and prophecies in other ways besides cutting their skin.” (Page 303). So far, all of the blood prophets always have to cut to see their visions. Cs 821 seems to be different. She seems to be able to draw what could be visions. She also is more interested in drawing than cutting. Maybe some blood prophets can get visions without having to cut themselves. That would certainly save their lives since they only get 1,000 cuts before they die.

I’m not a huge fan of Captain Felix Scaffoldon. He likes to blame Montgomery for the death of Elayne. He even has evidence that Montgomery couldn’t make it to where Elayne was killed and back to Lakeside, but he doesn’t care. He listens to Elayne’s mother and basically does everything she tells him. He’s the type of person that I don’t like in the real world. I’m hoping that he’ll get a huge smack in the face with the truth about Montgomery and be completely embarrassed for harassing him.

  1. I also found cs821 an interesting character. I do think the fact that she can draw out her visions without cutting is a cool concept but it makes me wonder why can't Meg do that? Or can she but she just doesn't know how to yet? What exactly makes cs821 different so she's able to do that? Like you said, she's a mystery so I'm hoping that the book will explain that later on because that's a part that I'm still confused about. I also don't like Scaffoldon and I don't quite understand why he's so against Monty and so click to blame him for the death of Elayne. Maybe because he's working with the Others and since Scaffoldon is working with Scratch, he probably automatically doesn't like Monty. I hate that the two sides are starting to like each other less and less.
