Do you know God's of Death love apples?
These
next few chapters of Death Note have had me on the edge of my seat. Finding out
all the different ways Light can kill people is pretty interesting. I like how
he can tell people what to do for the most part before they die. Not that I’m condoning
killing people, but it’d be cool to test and see how far he can make people go
and if what he writes would really happen. With the bus-jacker, he really
tested his limits. He was able to see everything work out word for word what he
wrote in the Death Note.
The suicide notes he’s been writing
has been almost a big game for him to mess with L. Over the series of 3 notes
making them say “L do you know Gods of Death love apples?” At first, I didn’t
understand that he was using the first word of every line to make a secret note
just for L. Now, it makes perfect sense and is almost comical the way he messes
with him.
As
for L, when we finally see his face, he’s not as suave as you think he is in
the beginning. He sits and acts almost like a child. In fact, he basically
points that out about himself. “You guessed it… I’m also childish and hate
losing…” (pg. 265) I am curious about this name that he asks the task force to call him,
Ryuzaki. Is that his real name or is it just an alias he decided to use with no
significant meaning at all. I can’t wait to finish this book and see how
everything goes down with Light and L.
After looking into the name “Ryuzaki” it seems to have something to do with dragons. I am not sure if this name has any significance to L or the novel itself, but I highly doubt that he would give out his real name. I also found it difficult to understand the meaning behind the suicide notes, but after figuring out the hidden messages I realized how intelligent both Light and L are. I find it to be pretty insane that Light has so much control over a person’s death, and the fact that he plans out the details so specifically is a testament to how psychotic he truly is. Although I also do not condone killing others, I agree that testing the limits of the death notes with crazy details would be interesting. When L mentions the fact that he is childish, I found it funny to know how similar L and Light are in that respect. Both of them cannot stand losing, but the primary difference between the two is that L is willing to admit when he is wrong, whereas Light thinks he is an all-powerful god.
