The Perfect End to the Book
I
really enjoyed reading Vision in Silver. I’m almost sad that I had to finish it,
but I’m not because I loved the ending. Most books that have more books in the
series end with a huge cliff hanger. I absolutely hate that because I get too
involved and I want to know more. For example, I want to know if they ever figure
out that Leo, Elayne’s brother, killed her and why he killed her. I’m glad that
he basically got justice for his murder however. “Leo Borden was found in the
water near the Toland docks yesterday. His throat had been cut.” (Page 485). It’s
only fitting that his death included a knife since he used a knife to kill his
own sister.
I also
enjoyed that we go to read a little bit about Elayne’s life. At first, she’s
all happy with Nicholas Scratch. I’m glad that she finally realized that he was
a cheating asshole. He didn’t care about Elayne or Lizzy as much as he said he
did. I’m figuring he just used to her pay the bills and buy him food, so he
could keep all his money for himself. She did say that he was basically using
her as someone to screw when he wasn’t able to get lucky with some random girl
that night. I think it’s sweet that she wrote Monty a note saying that one of
her biggest regrets was not moving with him to Lakeside. I think that if her
and Lizzy were to make it to the train together and gotten to Monty that they
might have been able to go back to being a family again.
